[SYNOPSIS]

At Manor Fields in the Mendips, the National Trust and tenant farmer Richard Brinson asked the Forest of Avon to look at how trees could help their land, their farm business and their livestock — especially as summers get hotter.

Funded by a Trees for Climate grant, the new planting will give animals shade, shelter and fodder, slow the run-off of water across the fields, and link up existing ancient woodland to form wildlife corridors for species like the hazel dormouse.
